WHERE TO STAY

Maine's 12 state park campgrounds have sites for tents, small trailers and large motor homes. Amenities include hot showers and wheelchair accessible wash rooms, dumping stations, drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, group campsites, boat launches and firewood for sale.

INSIDE THE PARK

There are four campgrounds in the park, and roughly a dozen private campgrounds near Acadia National Park.

Quick Camp Facts

- Campsites are reservable up to 6 months in advance

- Group campsites available by registration

- No hook-ups utilities

- Restrooms with running water

- Showers available nearby (fee)

- Evening campfire programs

- Island Explorer Bus Stop Location

- Campsites limited to 2 tents, 6 individuals and 1 vehicle

- RV Size Limits: Recreational Vehicles in Blackwoods and Seawall Campgrounds not to exceed 35' (10.7m) in length and 11'8" (3.5 m) in height. Extension pull-outs must fit within the site pads provided.

- Duck Harbor Campground has many specific regulations, read about them here.

In - Season: May 1 - October 31. Fee - $20 per site/night - Reservation suggested

Shoulder Season: (April & November) $10 (weather permitting, self-regulation)

Off-Season: December 1 - March 31. Blackwoods Campground open only for primitive camping, closed to automobiles. Must obtain a camping permit from the dispatch office at Park Headquarters (8am-4:30pm daily)
